Throughout the year, the New Canaan Beautification League offers a variety of educational programs, hands-on workshops, garden tours, and special events designed to inspire a love of gardening, conservation, and community beautification. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply enjoy beautiful places and connecting with your community, there’s something for everyone. Lee Garden Winter Talk: George’s Azaleas
This winter, learn about the history and botany of one of New Canaan’s most magical places at one of our Lee Garden Talk series led by Faith Kerchoff.
We have a world-class collection of azaleas at Lee Garden. George Lee’s 1978 inventory listed approximately 150 varieties. He befriended hybridizer Joe Gable, and together they amassed large collections. Hear Faith describe this collection, that she has observed, studied, and tended to over the years.
