Throughout the year, the New Canaan Beautification League offers a variety of educational programs, hands-on workshops, garden tours, and special events designed to inspire a love of gardening, conservation, and community beautification. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply enjoy beautiful places and connecting with your community, there’s something for everyone. Many programs are free and open to the public, while others are reserved for members or require advance registration. Please see the calendar below for details. Members Only: Tour of Prospect Gardens by Cindy Shumate
Prospect Gardens, located in Westport, is a stunning, multi-faceted property which incorporates an arboretum, berry patches, a sunny perennial garden, shady woodland walk, Japanese-inspired meditation garden and much, much more. Our visit will begin with an introductory program that will be followed by a walking tour of the beautifully designed grounds. Tour will be limited to 30 members with spaces filled on a first to sign up basis. Attendees must meet at the Mead Park parking lot (at the bottom of the pond, right across from the baseball fields) at 9:15 AM for a carpool to Westport. Parking at the Garden is limited.
